2014 SA Masters IPT Squash (Durban) - 5-9 September

Message from the KZN Chairman and Tournament Convener

The entire KZN committee has been working for months and finally the time has arrived to invite all to the 2014 SA Masters IPT to be held in Durban.

The format has been changed as agreed by all provinces to shorten the tournament by one day, (but we will still play 5 matches in four days). This change should help significantly in reducing travelling time, leave required and the cost of accommodation and car hire.

We have secured the best possible venue being Berea Rovers Club. All our functions and headquarters will be based there for the duration of the tournament.

Squash will be played at various venues across the entire KZN Durban and close surrounding areas. All clubs look forward to assisting and hosting players from various Provinces.

Please may I ask that all provinces advise us of their potential/possible number of teams that will be entering the IPT, before the end of June 2014, as the final entries received by this date will determine the final entry fee per player.

ACCOMMODATION & FLIGHTS:

For those players who have not arranged their accommodation as yet, a list of places to stay, contact details, prices etc. will be attached for your convenience in our following newsletter. We strongly recommend that those who have not finalized their bookings as yet should do so as soon as possible.

TEAM DEPOSITS/ PLAYER DETAILS:

A deposit of R2000 per team entered is required and payable by 30 June 2014 to KZN Masters Squash. The team entry must be accompanied by payment. A team with invitational players will not be allowed entry without approval from SA Masters executive. NB. Please include your province name as reference when making payment.

FINAL NAMES OF TEAM MEMBERS AND PAYMENTS:
The balance of payments and final list of all players in their respective teams must be made and given by 31 July 2014.

ENTERTAINMENT:

The Berea Rovers Club which is centrally situated in Durban close to the KINGS PARK Stadium will be the venue for all the functions.
We will host all functions in a 1000 man marquee. Great entertainment, good food, safe, secure onsite parking and drinks at very reasonable prices will be provided.

Friday 5 September: Team registration and collection of goodie bags from 2 - 8 pm.
Saturday 6 September: Captain’s Meeting (Time TBA) and Opening Function. Catering & entertainment provided for all players. Squash played Day 1.
Sunday 7 September: Social evening. Entertainment provided. Lucky Draw at 8pm and Happy Hour. Players to purchase their own meals - food will be on sale . Squash played Day 2.
Monday 8 September: Social evening. Team photos to be taken from 6 - 8pm. Lucky Draw at 8pm and Happy Hour. Players to purchase their own meals - food will be on sale. Squash played Day 3. The SAM AGM will be held at 6 pm
Tuesday 9 September: Closing Function. Catering and entertainment provided for all players. Third Degree will be the live band performing on this evening. A short Prize giving will start the evening and winning teams will be photographed. Squash played Day 4.

TOURNAMENT LEVY
The tournament levy of R1100 per player has been set at this stage based on an estimate of 600 players. However if player entry should increase the levy will decrease accordingly. Also, if fewer than 600 players enter the levy must increase, so please encourage your fellow provincial members to enter. The final entry fee will be confirmed after deadline for entries being 30 June 2014.

LADIES SECTION
The women will play in sections according to strength and not based on age.

GOLDEN OLDIES
The over 70's will be organised by Varick von Broembsen with the assistance of Joan Davey and Eddie Fitz Henry. Varick can be contacted on 082 458 9338 or varick@pretor.co.za.

All entries will be done via Geraldine Scaife for Golden Oldies and the same tournament entry fee will apply to Golden Oldies
